I have been prescribed Isotretinoin (20mg) for severe acne, but I have great difficulty in swallowing all food.
2 questions please:
1) Are the 10mg capsules smaller and therefore easier to swallow? or....
2) Is it possible to empty the 20mg capsules into, say, yoghurt or something similar, to make it easier to swallow the capsule contents?
Do not change your dose or the way you take isotretinoin on your own. The most important step is to discuss your swallowing difficulty with the doctor who prescribed it. They can guide you on the safest and most appropriate plan based on your individual needs and medical conditions. In some cases, they may advise switching to smaller 10 mg capsules, adjusting the dosing schedule, or suggesting safe techniques to help swallow the capsules. Never open or crush the capsules, as this can reduce effectiveness and cause irritation.
