I have been prescribed Isotretinoin (20mg) for severe acne, but I have great difficulty in swallowing all food. 2 questions please: 1) Are the 10mg capsules smaller and therefore easier to swallow? or.... 2) Is it possible to empty the 20mg capsules into, say, yoghurt or something similar, to make it easier to swallow the capsule contents?

The 10mg isotretinoin capsules are generally smaller and may be easier to swallow than the 20mg capsules. However, it is important to confirm this with your prescribing doctor before switching doses.
Emptying the contents of the 20mg capsules into yogurt or another soft food is not typically recommended without medical advice, as it may affect the medication’s effectiveness or cause irritation. Always check with your dermatologist before altering how you take isotretinoin.
If swallowing remains difficult, your dermatologist can provide the safest options tailored to your needs.
