I don't suffer from hypertension or diabetes neither I have any thyroid or kidney problem but recently my right arm especially below wrist that is the joints of fingers started paining and there was a stinging sensation whenever I do any work like writing or cooking then I took a tablet of cholecalciferol 60000 lU.now the pain in the finger joints are not there but that sensation is still there.was it right to take the medicine without doctors prescription
Cholecalciferol 60,000 IU is a high-dose vitamin D3 supplement and should ideally be taken only after a doctor's evaluation and, when appropriate, based on your clinical condition and laboratory tests, as it may not be suitable for everyone. Therefore, it is generally not advisable to self-medicate with this high-dose supplement without medical guidance. Although your finger joint pain has improved, the persistent stinging sensation suggests that the underlying cause may not have been addressed. Symptoms such as pain and stinging in the hand and fingers can result from various conditions, including nerve-related problems, tendon disorders, arthritis, or vitamin deficiencies. They cannot be diagnosed based on symptoms alone. It is advisable to consult a doctor for a proper evaluation. Based on your examination and, if required, investigations, your doctor can identify the underlying cause and recommend the most appropriate treatment, including whether you need vitamin D supplementation or another treatment.
